Pro Audio Converter App Reviews

Very Useful

I use this app frequently. It is stable, easy to use and pretty much any kind of audio file into any other kind of audio file. One thing that I like is that you can convert the same audio file into multiple targets at the same time. So for example I will often convert a wav into every possible level of MP3 conversion at the same time so I can choose the best possible quality under some given size limit.

Awesome App, better than many others that cost more

I’ve used plenty of audio conversion tools, a lot of them have cost many times more than this one and not performed as well as or been as flexible as this is. Very happy customer and would recommend it to anyone.

ditto kudos

I agree, with what appears to be the consensus here, this is a great app - simple, yet extensive, easy to use, excellent results. Saves a lot of time, especially working with batches of files. There’s even USEFUL in-app Help, including a nice reference to audio file types and variables associated with each. Customer support is superb! with personal attention by the developer. (even helped me with an issue I had with Apple Mail - thanks Mark :-)… oops! better not open the door to him being Apple support, too. A nice feature I discovered is it’s ability to extract audio from video files (mp4, at least); handy for trimming down file sizes for those pesky online videos I save that are really just audio with fancy wrappers (and BIG file sizes). Try it! You’ll like it!

I Am Not Having The Same Experience

The latest version of Pro Audio Conveter has ten five-star ratings. With so many five-star raings, I bought the app. I have tried to convert 24bit flac to 24bit Apple Lossless. They convert and look good, but many (not all) files will not mount in iTunes. I convert the 24bit flaqc files with Tunesify and they mount.

Best Audio Converter

No fail file conversions. The best means of converting hi definition Flac files to iTunes compatible files. This program also never fails to compress higher definition files for iPod compatability either. This program is an audiophiles dream !! A+++++

Great. Converted my library for use with Sonos

I recently had my entire CD collection professionally ripped to AIFF format, and I’ve placed the files on a dedicated SAN drive (WD MyCloud) for use with Sonos. At full CD resolution each song is over 50 MB, and pushing this much data through my wireless network means the audio is prone to dropouts, especially if I’m surfing the net. So, it became necessary to compress the files to a smaller format. With nearly 1TB of files (about 900 CDs), I needed a tool with excellent batch capabilities. This application does the job and I am very happy with the purchase. It’s simple, easy to understand, and performance is rock solid. The key feature is that it has a configuration item (in preferences) that preserves the original directory structure. So, I can create a parallel MP3 library to my AIFF library with one simple set up. The conversion process takes time, but once it’s done, that’s it. Set up; walk away; come back later and you’re ready to go. No hassles. Well worth the investment! Paul

Simple, fast audio conversion

Great little tool for converting audio files between various formats. It’s fast, does batches easily, and can convert to multiple output formats in a single pass. it’s like a universal adapter for audio. I initially bought this to convert FLAC to a more iTunes-friendly ALAC format, but ended up finding all kinds of uses for it. An essential tool is you have lots of audio to manage.

Conversion works well, ID tag part is buggy

I purchased this software to replace SoundConverter, which closes down on me. The part of the software that converst audio files works pretty well, although it doesnt do normalization. The part thats supposed to add ID tags doesnt work. There are parts missing and some of the text is truncated.

Great APP!!!

This is a very simple, but yet very powerful app! It works very quick and simple to setup, also has tons of techie features and configurations you can control. I highly recommend it!

Pro Audio Converter

Five stars through Yosemite, but crashes immediately upon launch when I try to use it with the El Capitan previews. I assume that the author is working to correct that. UPDATE: The author has assured me that he will have an updated version of PAC ready for the final release of El Capitan. Meanwhile, he has provided me with a copy of PAC v1.8.1b which does, in fact, work the OS X v10.11.1 EC golden master.

Error Log issues

Just purchased this app and it is posting an error log whenever I try to encode my mp3’s to any format. I chose the files to go to its original source folder and a small screens pop out asking me to Allow Write Access. I select the Allow Write Access option and I get another screen that tells me that I do not have any write access permission. I am using a Seagate external Goflex to store my music. The Seagate also contains the music that I want to encode. Please help. This is my second day trying to use this app with no luck. Any suggestions would be great.

locks up

Just bought this and tried to convert audio from a CD to a file. It kept locking up and I would have to force quit. Never got it to work convertering directly from a CD in superdrive.
