Bug

Wont write output files because of a folder permission error… ! Ive switched to Music Converter Pro.

Super Fast and Great Support

Super Fast Converter. convertet 33 GB caf files to aif as fast as copy it ! Had a initial problem and the developer solved it within a few hours and mailed a fixed beta !!! Great Experience and strongly recommended

Works as advertised!

Simple to set up, then click a button and boom — all your files get converted. $10 is kinda steep for a one-trick pony, but if you want to convert a lot of files without a lot of fuss, it’s worth it.

Worked as expected for converting FLAC HD Tracks

I purchased this to convert HD Tracks FLAC files over to a format that my iPods could play. Its very fast and allows for changing the sample rate as well as the bit depth. Overall I am very pleased with this application, well worth the cost.

Simple and high quality product

You sometimes ask yourself, why software like this is so hard to find. I was a bit hesitant to buy it because of the seemingly high price, but the outstanding reviews gave me confidence to try it. Im glad I did! This audio converter is simple to use. Its features are relevant. You can change bitrates, bit depths, encoding quality and speed and channels easily and in case you dont want to change them, you can just select automatic to maintain it the same. It allows for some automation in terms of deleting files source files, determining output folders and has slightly more advanced features such as editing metadata. The encoder seems to be of high qualitie (LAME) and it is compatible with the main audio formats. Havent had any trouble in the conversion of files and in case I do, I know I have the error log to alert to me to such occasions. Wont be needing any other audio converters and the 10 dollars were deffinitely worth it :) Congratulations to the developer!

Love this app!

I was debating whether or not I should spend the ten bucks on this app. Turns out it was money well spent. I do voice-over recordings, and sometimes my clients need me to meet specific criteria with sample rates, types of files, etc. Even though GarageBand is a great recording/editing program, its limited in this area. Fortunately PAC converts the audio to whatever specs I need, and so far the sound quality holds up just fine. Easy to use, fast, and when I e-mailed the company to ask a question about the program before buying it, they responded to me within minutes. Dont waste your time on a 99-cent app. You get what you pay for, and Im very happy I spent the $9.99!

Great app, worth the price.

Love the app - its very stable, simple, and does exactly what I need it to. Im a reporter and I use the program to convert WMA interview recordings to MPA so I can play/save in iTunes, and it works like a charm. Thanks!

Good app

App is stable and does its job well. Furthermore, you have restored my faith in humanity for including an easy to use batch tag editor. For whatever reason, mac is missing a good tag editor and I bought this program specifically because if this feature.

Ok but buggy.

The "overwrite source file" option doesnt seem to work at all. If I needed to encode a few files here and there, this program would probably do the job. But I need to resample hundreds of files in-place in a complex folder hierarchy. The support link for this app doesnt actually go to a support page, it just shows a list of the developers other apps. Theres an "Email Developer" option in the apps help menu, but I havent got a response yet.

Fast and easy to use

Its lightning fast and converts all audio formats that the default apps cant deal with (mostly FLAC and Ogg Vorbis). Clean and clear interface with plenty of options.

Good Audio File Utility App

Pro Audio Converter (PAC) has been my primary app for 3 months now for working with a large music collection. My needs mainly include editing FLAC file metadata and artwork for use with a household SONOS system & archival backup, converting FLAC to AAC & Apple Lossless, and importing files to an iTunes library for mobile and desktop audio. I use a separate app for ripping CDs to FLAC but I understand CD ripping capabilities may be added later. Ive used a number of converter apps and tag editors on both Mac & PC but have found that PAC meets my needs the best with its reasonably comprehensive but not overly complex capabilities coupled with a straightforward interface. Soon after I purchased PAC I contacted the seller with some suggestions for improving v1.4. I received a quick response stating a number of my suggestions were already in the works for v1.5, that one of my suggestions could possibly be added in v1.5 (it was), and another should be able to be included in v1.6. I not only appreciate the development of a good quality audio file utility for the Mac (which was sorely needed) but also the willingness to listen to user needs. I highly recommend Pro Audio Converter.

Doesnt work—use XLD and iTunes for free

I opened a bunch of music files to change the album title. Pro Audio Converter is useless. 1. I couldnt select all. I had to manually select the songs to edit the album title. This breaks the Apple interface standards and is tedious. Bad design. 2. I changed the album title for all tracks, and selected "close" There is no option to "save" but "close" appears to save the changes. 3. I doubled checked the info on each track and the album title was edited as I wanted. 4. I closed Pro Audio Converter and found that the files were not updated--the album title was not fixed. It looks like the ability to edit track information is broken. Maybe if I convert the songs to another format then it will change the metadata. But most of the time I just want to fix the metadata before loading into iTunes (because iTunes immediately starts iTunes Match and I want the metadata to be correct for iTunes Match). Anyway, XLD is free and provides the audio format conversions you might need and is updated frequently. XLD also has the best CD ripper available for the Mac. iTunes provides all the metadata editing you would need. So, this is $10 wasted. Avoid it.

Wonderful

A great, flawless app for converting FLAC and other formats to iTunes. Really easy to use.

Great App!

Very reliable, great quality sound, easy to find files, lots of formatting options.

Didnt convert Real Player files

It didnt work.

Hands down the BEST audio converter for OS X

PAC is one of the most stable, functional, and intuitively designed app I have ever worked with. It handles pretty much anything you throw at it. Ive thrown almost every format at it, and it has never crashed or messed up an audio file. I had my entire collection of lossless audio in the FLAC format, and I threw the entire collection (100s of gigs of music) into PAC it converted them to Apple Lossless without a hitch. This app is the swiss army knife of audio conversion - HIGHLY reccomend it.

FINALLY A STABLE AUDIO CONVERTER!!!

I really want to spread the word about this app! Not only is the coolness of the icon important to me (he he), but this App has completely eliminated my dependence on MAX (Mac Audio Converter) that is free (you can find it just about anywhere online). MAX is great and all, but SO unstable—especially when converting OGGs or any lossless type. And the worst part about it is that it crashes if it ever has an encoding problem! PAC handled all of my weird and wacky files (from AAC to WAVs) and converts them FASTER than anything Ive ever used before. Seriously, Im so happy about this right now! I work as a sound technician for a Game company whose Game Engine only accepts OGG files. PAC is by far my favorite audio converter tool now, and for just $9.99—how could I not indulge?? I cant say anything about Real Audio or anything like that, because frankly I just dont use those random audio types. But this thing is solid for Apple Lossless, FLAC, and OGG from any sort of audio file type. Bravo, Mark! Thanks for making such a solid and affordable application!

Vrooommmmm

This does everything I need it to do - takes FLAC files and converts them into MP3 and feeds them to iTunes. Also has a pretty good metadata editor that works for what I need it for. Very simple interface and zips through the conversions pretty well. Costs a little more than some other programs, but I feel its worth the extra $.

Perfect ap!

Mark-V Apps are the best. Simple, functional and intuitive. Super stable. The new Metadatics is incredible!

excellent app

It does everything I need. It converts multiple files fast to whatever format I need with whatever bitrate I need, fast. Awesome!
